THE
NIGHT BEFORE MICKY'S XMAS

It was the night before Xmas and all thru the house not a creature was
stirring, not even a mouse.
Micky's children were snuggled tight in their beds, with visions
of sugar plums (& new CD players) dancing in their heads. And Micky
in his kerchief (he didn't feel like wearing his cap) had all settled right
down for a long Xmas nap.
Then out on the lawn there was a whole bunch of noise.... Micky jumped from his bed like jumpin' jack flash... and raced to the window to see what the heck was going on on his newly seeded lawn.
When what to his wondering eyes should appear but a mini sports car pulled by eight rather small but cute reindeer. With a little old driver so lively and quick, Micky knew in a moment it was groovy old St. Nick.
More rapid then email Santa and his deer came.... he whistled and shouted
and called them by name. Hey Kathie & Nezza... On Martha and Suzimic...
Go Bongo & MickyD...step lively Quaggy.. watch it Shot Gun!!
To the top of the porch..to the top of the wall... now dash away,
dash away, dash away all.
So up to the roof top everyone flew with a car load of toys & St. Nicholas
too.
Then in an instant Micky heard on the roof the prancing and pawing
of all those little hooves.
"Knock it off you guys... you'll wreck my roof," shouted Micky. As Micky walked down to the living room, he looked all around...just then Santa came down the chimney...followed by a lot of soot.
His droll little mouth drawn up like a bow and the beard on his chin why it was as white as the snow. And his pipe he held it very tight in his teeth..and the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a round little belly, that shook when he laughed like a bowl full of jelly. He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf...and Micky laughed when he saw him in spite of himself..
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, soon told Micky that he had nothing to dread. He said not a thing, but went straight to his work, set out all the gifts and then turned with a jerk.
And laying a finger aside of his nose and giving a nod, back up the chimney
he rose.
("Ah nuts," said Micky, "more soot!")
He sprang to his car to his deer gave a whistle and away they all flew
like the down on a thistle.
But Micky heard him shout as he drove out of site....
